Collection: Lead Crystal Glass Decor

Lead Glass is commonly called 'Crystal Glass', a type of glass where the calcium content has been replaced by lead oxide (between 18-40%) and is best known for it's dense weight, refractive sparkling cut, brilliant clarity and ringing bell-like tone.

I personally love beautifully cut Crystal Glass items and have collected interesting pieces for over 35 years (they remind me of my Nana and Mum).  'Crystal Glass' is incorporated into my natural crystal displays, filled with crystal chips and used as stands for spheres and specimens.  They are also used in my home decor to display jewellery, collectibles and candles.

Every so often I come across beautiful cut Crystal Glass dishes, bowls and items to share.  The kind that would make stunning additions to a crystal collection and those that can't be left behind.  When I find these, I will share them on offer here as 'one-off' pieces.  These can be purchased alone or with crystal chip additions - just message me to discuss.

Important note:  Due to the lead content in 'Crystal Glass', it is recommended that it not be used to store food or drink due to lead leaching.  'Crystal Glass' is safe to use for immediate and decorative purposes.
Quoted from Cumbria Crystal website: 'Lead crystal products do not pose a health risk. Having said that, lead ‘leaching’ from the crystal surface is detectable, however the quantity that gets into a beverage is believed to be much smaller than the quantity of lead consumed daily in an ordinary diet.'
