Collection: Recycled Skateboard Jewellery - A collab with Damien, Addy's Earrings, Manly QLD

Ever wondered what happens to worn-out, broken skateboards once they’ve served their time? Well, the lucky ones get a second life—transformed into one-of-a-kind artistic creations, from bold jewelry to unique display pieces.

Introducing our OOAK Recycled Skateboard Jewellery — a creative collaboration between Damien of Addy's Earrings and myself. Each piece is proudly handcrafted in South-East Queensland using recycled skateboard wood, high-quality gemstones and beading, and braided with durable, comfortable Brazilian Linhasita cord.

Sustainable, soulful, and made to stand out.

The Craft:
Each necklace begins its life as a skateboard before being made into a Sk8 Rock, carefully handcrafted in Damien's small workshop in Manly, SEQld.  Recycling skateboards is not a fast or easy process, as layers and layers of skateboards (collected from all over Queensland) are carefully adhered and compressed to create wood blocks for gorgeous turned dishes. Sk8 Rocks are created from the left-over corners after the rough shape has been cut (nothing goes to waste!) and polished to create tactile, beautiful and fun ‘rocks’.

The Necklaces:
The Sk8 Rocks are then handed over to me and my small home studio in Logan, SEQld to be turned into Gemstone Necklaces!  I select semi-precious gemstones, then use my trusty Dremmel to carve the necessary shape, allowing the gemstone to be safely embedded and securely adhered into the pendant.  Once this has been completed, using Brazilian Linhasita cord, natural crystal beads and lots & lots of knots, each pendant is woven into a comfortable, adjustable and completely unique Sk8 Rock Necklace.
