Collection: Fossils ∙ Amber/Copal ∙ Pseudomorphs

Here you'll find my carefully curated selection of Fossils, Pseudomorphs, Amber, and Copal—each specimen personally chosen for its authenticity and sourced from trusted suppliers.

Pseudomorphs are particularly fascinating! These occur when one mineral transforms into the form of another, much like the shape-shifting in Terminator 2. They are labeled as (new mineral) after (original mineral).

Amber, a fossilized tree resin formed over millions of years, is denser and harder than Copal, making it highly prized for both collectors and jewelry. Amber typically glows green under UV light, though Indonesian Blue Amber radiates a stunning blue glow.

Copal, also tree resin but younger than Amber (less than 10 million years old), is softer and can be easily scratched. It's often used in incense for its sweet, natural fragrance and can be melted by turpentine.
