Black Morion Smoky 'Screw' Quartz Cluster | Inner Mongolia

Screw Quartz is a natural stepped formation created by growth interruptions in thermal conditions create horizontal striations that twist, forming a 'screw' type appearance.  The points are usually pyramid like, creating an almost elestial/skeletal growth pattern.

Black Quartz is a variety of Smoky Quartz, with a high aluminum content  allowing natural (and artificial) irradiation to create the darkest, light absorbing specimens.
