Between 26 and 28 million years old, Libyan Desert Glass is a pure silica impactite found only in the western corner of what we now know as the Sahara Desert.  Rather than being a tektite, an impactite is created through aerial bursts from a meteorite after it explodes in the atmosphere.  This explosion creates a wide spread shower of hot matter that lands broadly over a region, rather than creating a direct impact sight.

Libyan Desert Glass is a totally underrated energetic specimen, often overlooked by its big brother Moldavite, and each specimen is completely natural and unique, have been intentionally selected to be created into a necklace pendant.
