You are looking at a Mallee Burl Macrame Necklace - 'Spirit of Dryad' Talisman.

This gorgeous Mallee Burl pendant has been hand-finished by Nathan - Our Little Shed before being woven into this talisman by me.  The Mallee Burl has been paired with Sunstone and Brass beading woven into Pahla Linhasita cording.  The beauty of this Burl pendant is that both sides have different colouring and it has been created to enable you to wear it on either side.

What is Mallee Burl?
The Mallee is a semi-desert shrubland habitat spread across the southern parts of Australia, the name originating from the land's Aboriginal custodians, and the Mallee trees are a robust, strong range of Eucalypt trees located throughout this habitat.   Due to the harsh, nutrient-poor environment they grow in, Mallee trees grow up strong, and resilient, uniquely twisted and gnarled in appearance, burls forming where the trees experiences stress or injury, a symbol of the tree's desire to survive.
Spiritually, this is what the Mallee Burl brings for you.  A reminder of your own strength and resilience during tough times. That yes, you are the biproduct of you own struggles in the same way the Mallee Eucalypts are, but you have grown from them...  learnt from them... become a better you due to them...
