Large rough Dravite specimen (aka Brown Tourmaline) from Yinnethara Region, Western Australian.
Dravite is a mineral belonging to the Tourmaline family. Dravite is a borosilicate mineral formed in metamorphic environments. Tourmaline have such a broad colour range, from clear to black and every colour in between. The bronzey-brownish-black colour is attributed to the trace elements and inclusions during composition such as Boron, aluminum, silicon and sodium.
