Beautifully translucent, this Desert Rose | Gypsum Rose Specimen is a 'large leafed', interesting specimen from South Australia. 

Desert Rose/Desert Leaves are gypsum formed 'rosettes' or 'leaves', created during the evaporation of shallow salt basins full of sulphate-rich water in arid desert and sandy locations.  Colouring is influenced when the calcium sulphate grows, trapping sand grains and other mineral inclusions as the forms grow and twist into their rosette shapes.
