Here you will find a selection of Smoky Quartz specimens. Like Clear Quartz, Smoky comes in so many different forms, each beautiful and interesting.

Smoky Quartz can range in colouring from pale, translucent brownish grey to deep black. The smoky colour-tone is produced when Quartz crystals are naturally irradiated by surrounding rock, activating the aluminum impurities within, which in turn modifies and darkens the crystals colour.

Smoky Quartz is a common crystal and found in various location world-wide, however there are some special, highly collectible specimens.

Morion Quartz is a very dark brownish to black variety, completely opaque. Sometimes it is found with a lighter Smoky Quartz capping due to interruption in the growth structure.

Mooralla Smoky Quartz is a stunning, unique specimen found only in Mooralla, Victoria, Australia and are Australia's answer to US's Herkimers. These specimens are incredibly beautiful, usually made up of multiple terminations with gorgeous shading inside and a high exterior luster. Elestial Smoky Fenster Quartz (aka Skeletal Quartz) has a specific, complex pattern of window terminations that flow to the tip while the interior skeletal structure is made up of windows and chambers, often containing micro bubbles of liquid and clay inclusions.
